From the roots of the tavern to the grandeur of 1916
Our journey began at the beginning of the 20th century, next to the historic Arcos de Valdevez bridge, where the Ribeira Durão family founded the Taberna do Tio Vicente tavern. Famous for its iconic codfish stand and genuine hospitality, the tavern gave way in 1916 to the impressive Hotel Ribeira.
